Veterans needing assistance with PTSD (or other mental health or substance abuse issues), may call Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital (ABBHH) at 1-800-432-5005. They will receive prompt attention by calling this number. ABBHH has an assessment center (open 24 hours a day)and will be able to assess the veteran and determine the level of care needed. ABBHH is a TRICARE provider. The quickest way to receive service is by calling the above 800 number. If the veteran has questions about the services offered to Veterans, they may contact Elva Johnson-Pompa at ABBHH at 847-755-8583, Monday–Friday 8:00-5:00.

Veterans service opportunity in Arlington Heights, IL
HandsOn Suburban Chicago is located outside the city of Chicago, Illinois, and is actively seeking to fill three year long Americorps/VISTA slots that will work in outreach for Veteran’s services. The focus will be on developing relationships with organizations that address the most common challenges veterans face. Hurry, applications accepted immediately. The first Selection of a VISTA candidate will occur by May 6, 2013, with the actual VISTA starting on June 18, 2013. The second selection will occur by May 24, with an actual VISTA start date of July 16, 2013. The third selection will be before July 1, with a VISTA start date of August 12, 2013.
